For those that want to quit smoking...

Check out the site QuitMeter if you are trying to quit smoking for your New Years Resolution. It keeps track of how long you've quit, how many cigarettes you didn't smoke and how much money you've saved. Hopefully this helps one of you out there.

2 More Credit Cards Paid Off!!

Finally! 2 more credit cards have a $0 balance. Now I have to be careful and I can not fall into the credit card hole again. I still have alot of debt to deal with, but having 3 cards with a $0 balance just gets me motivated to keep going. I was looking at my spending report from Oct 06 to Dec 06 and my spending has decreased from $3,000 all the way to $1,000. I have been on a strict budget cut and I've been doing just fine. I've elimated fast food about 99%. No more snacks at the gas station, and I know where all my money goes. If you actually take the time and write down all your spending habbits for 30 days, you'll be amazed at how fast you can lose all your money to $1 and $2 items. I highly recommend to write everything down for 30 days. Don't wait till New Years, just do it NOW.

It's almost that time of the month again, the 1st, when I redo my Net Worth calculations. I'm still -$123,000 away from reaching my $100,000 goal!

Million Dollar Savings Club Day 1

Today I'm going to start the Million Dollar Savings Club challenge. Instead of waiting for the New Year like what most people will do, I figure start NOW. As the old saying goes, "Manana is the busiest day of the week." I'm trying to break the habbit of always using tomorrow as an excuse. "If not now, when?" I'll be updating the Million Dollar Savings club progress daily. Today it starts...

1 Credit Card Completely Paid Off

My Bank of America Visa card finally has a $0 balance. The feeling is GREAT! I've had a $500 balance on this card for the past year and I've always tried to pay it off, but never had the chance. The way I achieved paying it off is by keeping the card locked up in a safe, literally. That is the only way to keep me from spending away and making impulse purchases. It is now my designated emergency card. 2 more credit cards hopefully should be paid off before Dec 31st. Pay off your balances cause the feeling is priceless.

AGLOCO.. 9 total referrals

So far I have 9 referrals for AGLOCO. I suggest you sign up today before the viewbar is released!! Get in as early as you can. Either way, if this pays out good or not, at least you can say you tried. Check out http://aglocotoday.blogspot.com today for more info... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I'm looking into Traffic exchange networks

I'm doing some research on how to get more traffic and traffic exchange networks seems to be a really great way for maximum exposure. There's a million different types so i'm trying to find all the better ones out there. So far I've signed up for a couple but most of them are not getting any traffic yet. The quickest one to setup has been Surf Promotion. They give you 1,000 credits to start off and it doesn't take long for them to approve your web site. I'll be listing all the ones that seem to "work." Sign up now if you want to add more hits to any of your business web pages.

Nothing much going on today

Pretty much a dull, boring Thursday today. No plans after work. Nothing new in the financial world. Tomorrow is payday and I have another dealer gig. By the way, has anybody ever seen "The Secret?"

The feeling you get when a credit card is paid off...

It's one of the best feelings. A sense of accomplishment! I currently have 3 credit cards that have a balance of less then $100 and within 2 weeks, all 3 cards should be paid off. This is just more motivation for me to keep going towards my goal of $100k. I've been trying to pay off these cards for the past year now and finally I've done it. As long as you have a game plan (my debt mastery program) and stick to it (not using the card while paying it off) it can be done! One method that really has helped me is to keep all my credit cards in a container inside my room. I can still access it if I truly need it, but at the same time helps prevent me from impulse buying. Impulse buying and boredom shopping is the enemy. Don't you agree?

10 Rules for Building Wealth

This was taken out of a CNN article:

1. Starting early: I started investing when I was 20, but I failed to continue. Luckily I saved up $1,000 in my IRA.
2. Use your 401k: I had over $3k in my 401k, but when I left my old job, I need the cash and cashed out. Bad mistake, now my current job does not offer me a 401k because I'm only a temp. I'll have to wait until I get my "real" job.
3. Keep it simple: I'm currently investing in ETFs, makes everything easier.
4. Don't try to beat the market
5. Don't chase trends
6. Make saving automatic: I currently have 2 savings accounts that have automatic deductions from my checksings each month.
7. Go heavy on stocks: My portfolio is super aggressive.
8. Hold down fees
9. Ditch credit card debt: I'm currently trying to get out of debt. I started my Debt Mastery Plan and based off the computer software, I should be out of debt in 5 years.
10. Defer taxes

6 out of 10. How do you rate?

Part time job really helps

$100k Journey: Part Time Job as a Dealer

Getting a part time job really helps. On Friday night, I made an extra $80 and Saturday night I made $95. Being a dealer has lots of advantages and now I just can't wait to move. I can only imagine how it's really going to be when people are drunk, playing with their money. My job is to get as much tips as possible by making people have fun while gambling. Seems easy enough.

My New $$$ Infrastructure Outline

My $$$ Infastrcture System Outline

I. Wells Fargo
100% A. Checkings: Main Account; everything goes here first.
5% B. Savings: Poker Bankroll

II. Bank of America
10% A. Checkings: Spending Account; gas and leisure

III. Sharebuilder
8% A. Roth IRA: Retirement Fund
5% B. Custodial: My child's 18th birthday present

IV. Capital One
5% A. Money Market: Mid-term Savings; Apartment, furniture, car repairs

December 5, 2006 Game Plan: (I will update this every 6 months)
1. 100% of all sources of income/money will be deposited into my Wells Fargo Checkings.
2. 5% will go into my WF Savings which is my poker bankroll.
3. 10% will go into my BofA account which will be used for my leisure and gas.
That will be my weekly allowance and can be used anyway I'd like.
4. 8% will go into my Roth IRA. I must save for my retirement NOW.
5. 5% will go into My child's portfolio. This will be his 18th birthday present.
He is currently 2, so 16 years of compound interest should add up.
6. 5% will go into my Money Market account, this is my mid-term savings.
Anything I'd like to save up for will come out of this account. I am currently
saving up to move out of state.
8. When all of these accounts are paid, the remainder of my money will pay off my
debt. I'm using a program called "Money Mastery" to write up a debt payment
schedule. I will post a blog later on my debt plan.
9. Any remaining money left over will be put into my Money Market Account.

This is my current "$ Infrastructure." Any comments, suggestions or questions is greatly appreciated.

New Project: Deals Page

I am currently working on a new project. I don't have a working title yet, only a rough draft. I'm trying to earn residual income where I don't need to put too much work after I get the web page up and running. Here is a sample rough draft, it is not going to look anything like this as the end result. I just wanted to "get started."

Spend Less or Earn More

So I've been doing research on saving, spending and budgeting. I've come to my own conclusion. There's really only 2 ways for me to reach my goal of $100k. I can either spend less or earn more. I've actually incorporated both concepts into my life. I have cut out at 20% in my current spending habits. I do not eat out anymore. No more fast food for me. I've always been addicted to dollar menus from McDonald's and Wendy's. $1 cheeseburgers and $1 potatoes sound so enticing. But at the end of the week, when I added up my spending, I was in for a total shock. I've decided to cut out as much fast food as possible. Another wallet killer is Mexican food. California burritos are about $5... I used to eat one every other day. Now, I bring my own lunch to work, either left overs from last night or cup of noodle soups. Once I get on a regular budget, I'll be posting exactly what I spend throughout the week. I figure I can't cheat myself I write it down and post it to the world. I can only get one step closer to my goal.

As far as earning more goes, I've decided to get a part time job. I currently have a full time job as a data entry clerk and yesterday was my first day working for Casino Magic. It's a casino party service. I'm a poker/black jack dealer and I get paid $50 for about 3 hours of work. Not bad for some extra income on the weekends. Later on I'll post my career outline that I've been working on. I try to put all my thoughts down on papers so it gets closer to becoming a reality. I'll also post a blog on all the books I've read and movies I've seen that have brought motivation to me. Any suggestions on books that I should read are greatly appreciated. I have another poker gig tonight so hopefully all goes well. Dealing poker and blackjack is just another way for me to network and meet new people.
