Million Dollar Savings Club update

I started the Million Dollar Savings Club thanks to Bryan C Fleming a couple months back. A simple idea of automatic savings done weekly to an online account that yields about 5% interest. I've been saving $50 a week and it automatically gets transferred every Friday. I use this account as my "mid-term" savings in case of any type of small emergency. This is the same account that I used to pay for my online appraisal class. As of this day, I have $536.21. It feels great to have extra money and the best part is that I don't remember even saving it. All I know is that I must have at least $50 in my bank account every Friday and I let them do the rest. It really is a GREAT way to save. At the end of the year, you'll have saved around $2,500 at $50/week. I would like to be saving $100/week and I will start doing that once I get all my debt down which is on track for 2 more years. At $100/week, that's over $5,200 in savings by Christmas time. Nothing new here over the weekend. Just stayed home and watched all the playoff games. Can't wait for next week. BEARS vs. Seahawks, rooting for da bears. Also going for the Chargers... Thoughts: Saving $3 a day, is getting easier and easier as the days go by. I find myself getting single dollar bills in advance so I can put one in each stack. Usually when I wake up, my first instinct is to put away the $3 so I won't have to worry about it the rest of the day. At 6am, I already have a sense of accomplishment and it helps me get through my day. I told one of my younger cousins about the Million Dollar Savings Club and he's already got $9 in each category. Good job buddy, he's on his way to making a million at age 18.

Plus I'm doing $50/week starting Dec 29th using my automatic savings account. I will also post that account balance one the money goes through. In just one week, I've accumulated $21 without hard work or even thinking about it. Starting Jan 1st, I will also start to track my spending on this blog. You will see exactly where my money goes and what I spend it on. Plus it keeps me in check from impulse buying.

Million Dollar Savings Club Day 1
